“My love affair with textiles began when I was quite small. I always preferred to wrap my dolls in scraps of cloth to playing house. Later I designed and made dresses for my sisters and mother, sometimes for schoolmates. I was always looking for a new textile challenge. I thought I had found my niche when I discovered quilting. However quilting led to dying fabric and that journey has led me to making art cloth. Like painting, I start with a blank surface. My inspiration comes from many things and usually reflects the world in which I live. It may be from my thoughts, impressions, memories or from the many places I have lived.”
